Job description

The M25 is one of our Flagship projects in the UK! It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network with it seeing over 200,000 vehicles per day and it’s a critical infrastructure asset for personal and goods vehicles into and around our capital. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, so it requires high levels of performance, constant improvement and repairs to keep it operating smoothly.

We’ve formed a Joint Venture project called Connect Plus Services (CPS) to work with our partners to widen, operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract and we are looking for a Tunnel Maintenance Co-ordinator to play a vital role in the upkeep of the main saver system and ensure planned maintenance work orders are confirmed and generated in a timely manner. In addition, this role will be supporting the Tunnels Maintenance team through scheduling, coordinating and booking roads space for delivery of Tunnel M&E planned preventative maintenance and project delivery as well as other departments in CPS to understand the programme of works and identify opportunities for sharing of road space and traffic management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Service Delivery and PDA Schedulers to seek opportunities to group works together geographically to enable sharing of road space and traffic management costs.
  • Submit road space bookings using the CPS NOMS system for bookings where sharing of road space is not possible.
  • Participate in road space co-ordination meetings, ensuring that bookings are made in sufficient time and that outstanding information is provided in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all works have the required Traffic Management resource allocated.
  • Assess planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance requirements and the booking of specialist plant (MEWP’s) and materials to undertake the tasking.
  • Assess planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance requirements including the booking of specialist Contractors by raising appropriate Commercial Instructions (SCI’s)
  • Work closely with the Tunnel Maintenance Manager, Service Delivery Schedulers, and the M25 Tunnels Team operational management to understand the annual internal programme of Mechanical, Electrical and Structural maintenance.
  • Overview of closures within the network Tunnels, highlighting work which can be completed within the closure.

Profile

  • Experience of working in a project environment desirable
  • Ability to consider customer impact of own work
  • Experience of planning preventive and reactive maintenance or inspections
  • Well organised with the ability to plan own workload in an efficient manner
  • Strong IT skills including confidence to learn to use new systems
  • Methodical and output-focussed
  • Flexible and adaptable, responding dynamically to a changing 24/7 operational environment
  • Able to manage complex issues and communicate these effectively
  • Able to build and maintain excellent working relationships both within own organisation and with external parties.
  • Resilient under pressure and in the face of change
  • Self-awareness
  • Dynamic approach, seeking continuous improvement and further opportunities.
