Job description

About the role

 

We are seeking an experienced Consultant level Scheme Project Manager to join our Transportation Business Line to safely deliver £1-10m portfolios of challenging rail infrastructure projects, for clients such as Network Rail, Transport for London, HS2, Train Operating Companies and many more. This role is a Permanent position based in Central London 3 days a week with occasional travel to the South Coast.

You will have experience of Rail Blockades and Access Planning.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the delivery of low complex projects or parts of complex projects in a safe & environmentally responsible manner to time, cost and quality standards.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams including commercial, programme controls, engineering, and others to identify solutions to client requirements and establish a robust baseline plan.
  • Support Senior Consultants in project reporting to the programme board.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities, updating project registers and implementing mitigation measures.
  • Hold project reviews with multiple stakeholders through the project lifecycle and provide evaluations of progress against the baseline.
  • Experience of stakeholder management and understanding the levels of influence and interests stakeholders have on projects.
  • Administer supply chain contracts, providing forecasts and effectively managing change. 

 

Profile

  • Rail experience is essential.
  • Railway blockade planning an execution preferred.
  • Railway access planning an preparation is essential.
  • Member of the Association of Project Management (or equivalent) or working towards membership.
  • A degree or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in managing projects to time, cost and quality standards.
  • Experience implementing GRIP, PACE, Pathway or other project management methodologies.
  • Contract administration experience.
  • Ability to interrogate project programmes (P6 and/or MSP)
  • Financial management/control experience.
