Egis is looking for a Computational Programmer for the MEP team to join its office located in Dubai and work closely to develop Computational Design Strategies. The successful candidate will blend the realms of design and programming to create innovative solutions for a variety of creative large-scale projects within the Architectural, Engineering and Construction industry in the Middle East. The candidate will utilize their expertise in coding and merge design principles in collaboration with MEP and wider discipline engineers/architects to automate processes, generate complex visualizations and develop interactive design experiences. This role requires a strong understanding of both design aesthetics and programming logic.
- Bachelors or master’s degree. in Architecture/ Building Services / Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Member of an internationally recognised professional body on computational design.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the areas mentioned above.
- Credible experience in working with parametric design tools such as Rhino, Grasshopper and Revit and use of early design building simulation software tools specifically Ladybug tools.
- Expert knowledge in coding or programming.
- Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles
- Portfolio showcasing projects that demonstrate a blend of design and programming skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced dynamic environment.
Specific areas of anticipated technical skills include.
- Proficient in computational design software such as Rhino/Grasshopper/ Revit / TAS / Design builder / Energy-Plus, etc.
- Ability to take lead and support role in driving computational design within the organisation.
- Experienced and confident liaising and collaborating with the wider design team.
- Strong communication, research and analysis skills.
- Ability to use IT based calculation and spread sheet software
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines
- Good Team working skills and be able to work across multi offices.
