Owing to a growing pipeline of project-related works, EGIS is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Project Controls Manager. The role will ideally be based in London however we are open to discussing other locations.
As Project Controls Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that key project risks and constraints are identified at the earliest opportunity to inform client decision making.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join the Egis Transportation Solutions team as a Project Controls Manager (PCM) within our Programme Management Office Function
This role involves delivering for our clients on a range of projects, contributing to the overall growth of the ETS business and managing other Project Controls Specialists with the PMO function ensuring Egis continue to set the bar for successful delivery of Transportation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety: cascade our behavioural safety strategy in all aspects of your allocated projects and direct ETS reports to promote and enable the well-being of our team and the safe delivery of our client's work
- Client delivery: as a Project Controls Manager you will be expected to lead the delivery of services to our range of clients ensuring safety on time and within budget delivery. You will directly deliver outputs and manage the client relationship and where appropriate manage the work output and quality of other Project Controls Specialists deployed on the same commission.
- Process optimisation: Project Controls is at its core about providing the right information at the right time to the right people. This can often involve the coordination of a range of separate processes and interface with differing departments (eg finance / commercial). You will be able to identify process optimisation to improve the delivery of the project controls role either through the establishment of digital solutions or a simple clear accountable reporting cadence
- Technical Knowledge: Key to the PCM role is the appreciation of all the Project Controls professions; how to manage the relevant experts in each profession and where and how the differing systems can and best integrate – e.g. Primavera and BIM
- Strategic support: Work collaboratively with the PMO Director to positively contribute to business plan development to meet the overall business targets.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of project controls staff, providing guidance, support and performance management. Ensure your team all have annual objectives and personal development plans to help them succeed in their role.
- Work Winning: Act as bid lead or bid support for Transportation tenders and ensure that Egis’ Tender Unit has sufficient suitably skilled project controls support for all tenders.
- Utilisation: Ensure that you and the project controls professionals appointed as your direct reports are fully utilised to the agreed targets
- Finance / Business Management: accountability for ensuring that the costs involved in delivering your commissions and managing your team remain within the agreed budget and participate in periodic reviews as requested.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Experience in infrastructure project delivery
- Experience in project controls in either planning, risk management, reporting or information management
- Proven track record of successfully delivering major projects within a consultancy environment.
- Excellent people management and development skills
- Strong business development skills with a history of winning work.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and client management abilities.
- Financial acumen and experience in project budget management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel as required for project assignments.
Desirable:
- Degree in Project Management, Engineering or a related field
- Chartered project manager or similar and member of a related professional body
- Rail sector knowledge
